All three engines of the Transit are offered with the six-speed automatic transmission with RWD. The second engine is a 3.5-liter twin turbocharged V6 that pushes out 310 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque while the top engine of the group is a 3.2-liter diesel five-cylinder model that produces 185 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque.

There are some standard items that you’ll be able to enjoy on the Transit which won’t need an upfitter to make them possible. The audio system which was mentioned is one as are the 16-inch wheels, the tilt/telescoping steering wheel, power windows and locks, the lower valence up front and rear step in the bumper in the back to give you better access, the short art dual power side mirrors and tinted windows on the passenger models. Moving up to the Wagon XL and you have a six-speaker audio system and rain sensing windshield wipers added, the top line Wagon XLT shows up with a chrome grill surround, automatic headlights and an upgraded eight-speaker audio system.

Ford can give you some options to choose from as well, all before you head to the upfitters and make this the Swiss-Army Knife of work vans. Some of these options include a ten-way power driver’s seat, an engine block heater, rear parking sensors, extendable mirrors, the Ford Telematics, dual sliding side doors, cruise control, keyless entry, and the Sync 3 with MyFord Touch with a six-inch touchscreen and the navigation system.
