A GT with a Six: Not Enough? Let’s See.

2017 Ford GT V6

For 2017 Ford is showing its continued love for the turbo engines, calling the latest one to be created for the GT an EcoBeast. Without a doubt that is precisely what we will see in the GT when the 2017 model year comes around and there should be little to no complaints about this amazing engine be shoved into this fast and ultra-speed designed car . Adding a six-cylinder to a car that’s only mission in life is to go fast can’t be powerful enough, can it?

Let’s see, the 2017 GT is set to be fitted with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that is mounted mid-engine and power the rear wheels of the new GT. Will this cause some owners to complain about this car not having a V8 under the hood? Hopefully the 600 horsepower and 550 lb.-ft. of torque will keep this from being a problem at all for the GT. This is of course possible from the amazing boost given by turbo boosting this engine into a power beast that Ford refers to as an EcoBoost engine, but in this case its and EcoBeast.

With a racecar look that is ready to take on any of the Italian competitors the GT offers anyone fortunate enough to own this beauty a look, style and performance that is truly unmatched. In the supercar race to be the best it’s a stiff and full competition every year to see who has the testosterone to be the best each year. The Ford GT EcoBeast will have to compete with its V6 against the likes of the Acura NSX, BMW i8, Audi R8, Lamborghini Huracan, Ferrari 458 and McLaren 650S. With this competition on the track, the GT has to showcase not only exceptional performance but also a huge advancement in technology.

With the low front end, a great deal of body element all made to either bring cooling air to the engine or help stick this monster to the road the GT is an amazing looking and powered high performance super car. The inside is full of awesome luxury racing features including racing bucket seats and a steering wheel that is not only flat on bottom, but on top as well. The instrumentation of the dash allows driver’s to see what they want as far as engine and performance information to help gain the greatest performance possible from this truly amazing machine. Other than these features, the interior is not full of unnecessary equipment or items, keeping the attention on the drive.

Whether this V6 powered GT can truly win over the hearts and minds of GT lovers is still to be seen but one thing is for certain, the rules have changed now that we are seeing a 600hp six-cylinder engine being offered. What is next for Ford or other manufacturers who are now proving bigger isn’t necessarily better; it’s a matter of how you use all the power that is generated in one of these amazing engines.
