Of course these auctions come up often and offer a great deal of awesome old sports cars, but this particular one will carry a menu of fantastic cars for you to choose from that were consigned to Gooding & Company by one particular celebrity who has been collecting these cars for several years. Apparently this celebrity is ready to part with these cars and have someone else give them a great new home.
The list of cars being offered by this celebrity include a 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder, a 1957 Porsche 456A Speedster, a 1958 Porsche 356A 1500 GS/GT Carrera Speedster, a 1958 Porsche 597 Jagwagen, a 1959 Porsche 718RSK, a 1964 Porsche 356B 2000 GS Carrera 2 Coupe, a 1966 Porsche 911, a 1973 Porsche 917/30 Can-Am Spyder, a 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 IROC RSR, a 1989 Porsche 911 Speedster, a 1990 Porsche 962C, a 1994 Porsche 964 Turbo 3.6 S Flachbau, a 1998 Porsche 993 3.8 Cup RSR, a 2000 Porsche Carrera GT Prototype, a 2011 Porsche 997 Speedster, a 2012 Porsche 997 GT3 4.0 Cup “Burnos Commemorative Edition”, a 1960 Volkswagen Beetle and a 1964 Volkswagen Camper.
Originally there were only going to be three cars that were being auctioned off from this particular celebrity but the list grew as time has marched on. While the two VW models don’t sound overly impressive at first glance, both of them should bring a pretty fair price at the auction. Even though these two might be the bottom of the barrel in this particular list, they will certainly be front and center of the show when it’s their turn on the auction block.
The celebrity who has put these cars up for auction for this company is none other than the noted comedian Jerry Seinfeld. If you didn’t think Seinfeld was a gearhead you have missed out on his new series which is Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee which sounds like a series that is so over the top it has to be funny. So far this series has been a big hit and he has had names on the show such as Steve Martin, Larry David, Jim Carrey, Sarah Jessica Parker, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and of course President Barack Obama.
Now that Seinfeld has decided to part with these amazing cars that have been in his collection and have made him a certified Porsche nut it’s your chance to snatch one of these beauties up.
