More Capability in the Smaller Size

03.07.16 - 2016 Nissan Titan XD

Jobs don’t seem to get any smaller for work crews and the ability to tow and haul whatever is needed has become a greater challenge. When gas prices were on the rise truck manufactures were looking for great ways to make their vehicles lighter and more efficient which unfortunately gave up some of the capabilities of the trucks. There is one answer to the problem of needing the power of a three-quarter ton pickup while enjoying the ride quality and comfort that is found in a half ton model; the new Nissan Titan XD.

What is it the Titan XD gives us? This truck is the only one that offers the ride quality and lower noise levels of the half ton market while being powered by a turbodiesel V8 engine that offers the capabilities of a larger truck. With this new truck model on the market other manufacturers need to sit up and pay attention or their diesel models will quickly be put out to pasture.

When you first step up into the Titan XD you do feel like it’s a big truck. When you start it up you can hear only a slight noise from the engine and when you take off down the road you quickly learn this truck drives and handles just as well as any other in the half ton market. This is made possible by the outstanding drive system that is in place that makes this both a work truck and a comfort truck for you to have the ride quality you want. You will notice the navigation system, heated power seats, NissanConnect infotainment system, push button starting and fantastic driver information display that all give you the features you want. Comfort is provided by the smooth cloth seats that can be upgraded to leather in the Platinum Reserve trim.

Looking at the engine and its capability you will love having a 5.0-liter Cummins turbodiesel under the hood. This engine produces 310 horsepower and 555 lb.-ft. of torque to give you the burst of energy you want from a truck built for power. Mated to a six-speed automatic transmission this powertrain does a great job, especially when challenged. You can tow as much as 12,300 pounds behind this beast and have as much as 2,100 pounds of payload in the bed of the truck to allow you the carrying and pulling power you need.

While we have only discussed the turbodiesel model, the Titan XD will have five trim levels and other engines to choose from. The trim levels include S, SV, PRO-4X, SL and Platinum Reserve all of which are able to be built in regular, King or Crew cabs with best of eight, 6.5 or 5.5 feet in length. With this versatility the Titan XD can be the right new truck for nearly every customer on the market today. The pricing of this truck lines up perfectly with others in the market to make it a highly competitive new truck offering.

Do you want a new Titan XD as your new work partner? If you need the awesome strength this truck offers, or even think you might, this is the truck for you to admire and buy. Take a drive in this beauty, hook up a trailer and see exactly what this beast can do. The calm, confident and comfortable ride will win you over and the awesome features available will have you ready to sign on the dotted line to make the Nissan Titan XD your new favorite piece of work equipment at the jobsite or for taking adventures on the weekends.
