New Audi Models Show Off with Plenty of Power

New Audi Models Show Off with Plenty of Power

Audi recently revealed the S6 and S7, which are the sporty models of the A6 and A7 that are luxury cars that we already love and admire.

What might surprise you about these larger and sportier models is the fact that they are powered by the same engine as models that wear smaller numbers. The power for the S6 and S7 is the same as what we find in the RS4 and RS5, giving us a question that needs to be answered for the drive we want to enjoy.

Is the Power Plentiful Enough

The engine being used for these new sporty models is a 2.9-liter turbocharged V6 engine which makes 450 horsepower and 442 lb.-ft. of torque. This sounds like enough power, but we see some models that have numbers that rival these two which are smaller, but the S6 and S7 have a bit of a secret to share. Both of these models will be equipped with the Audi 48-volt mild hybrid system that makes the car more fuel-efficient and allows you to have power available right away. This means you have better acceleration and the upgraded fuel savings you want.

Deleting the Turbo Lag in these Audi Models

One of the most troublesome aspects of performance driving is turbo lag. It takes a bit of time for the air to heat up and be compressed to make the turbocharger do its job, which is time that you could use for performance. The Audi engine benefits from a small electrically powered compressor (EPC) which sits on top of the engine in the intake path to delete turbo lag. This item is used when the air coming into the engine is low to feed compressed air into the engine and allow you to have the power you want to enjoy right away.

Driving Systems to Give You a Great Ride

The S6 and S7 models make use of the Quattro AWD system that can push up to 85 percent of the torque to the rear wheels or 70 percent of it to the front wheels when you need to get out of trouble or handle the rough drive in foul weather. There’s also an S sport suspension that’s specifically designed for these two cars to give you the damping control you need to lower the S6 by 20 mm and the S7 by 10 mm making it easy for both of these cars to be a lot of fun when you drive.

Get Ready for a Great Drive

Now that you know what the new Audi S6 and S7 models will offer you, it’s time to see if one of these two models can be the right one for you to have the drive you’re looking for.
