Which Honda Civic Has Apple CarPlay?

The Honda Civic has included Apple CarPlay integration on most models since 2016 and you can enjoy this feature in this compact car.

For the 2020 and 2021 models, the trims that include Apple CarPlay as a standard feature are:

Honda Civic Sport

EX

EX-L

Touring

The base Civic LX does not have integrated Apple CarPlay for these model years. For 2022, all Civic models will include Apple CarPlay.

Which 2016 -2019 Civic Trims Have Apple CarPlay?

The Honda Civic was redesigned in 2016, and part of the redesign was Apple CarPlay integration. Apple CarPlay comes standard on 2016 through 2018 Honda Civic EX, EX-T, EX-L, and Touring models. For the 2019 models, the Civic Sedan has standard AppleCarPlay on the Sport, EX, EX-L, and Touring trims.

It’s not standard on the LX trim. The Civic Si base trim has standard Apple CarPlay as does the Honda Civic Type R base trim. The Civic Hatchback includes standard Apple CarPlay on the EX, EX-L, Navi, and Sport Touring models. It’s not standard on the LX and Sport models for the hatchback.

What Is Apple CarPlay?

Integrated Apple CarPlay allows you to use your iPhone to call, text, stream audio and use real-time directions and maps while remaining focused on the road. Having integrated Apple CarPlay almost totally eliminates the need for any other type of integrated navigation tool. It also reduces the temptation for drivers to look at or touch their phones while driving. Apple CarPlay uses Siri Voice Control to allow the driver to control the system hands-free. It also integrates with Honda Civic controls like the touchscreen and knobs or buttons.

Using Apple CarPlay In Your Honda Civic

Setting up Apple CarPlay in your Civic is easy. Start your Civic and make sure that Siri is activated. Connect your iPhone to your Honda Civic’s USB port with an Apple USB cord. Look for the port that has a CarPlay icon or phone icon. Find the voice-command button on your Civic. It should be on your steering wheel. If you can’t find it, check your owner’s manual.

Can Apple CarPlay Be Added To a Civic?

If you have an older Civic or a base model of the years mentioned here that doesn’t include integrated Apple CarPlay, you can still add it through an aftermarket stereo head unit.
