It’s not uncommon for Dodge Charger and Challenger buyers to add options to make their car stand out. Historically, customers could order accessories and parts from other trims through their local CDJR dealership to customize their model, but things are different with the 2023 Charger and Challenger. To celebrate the end of an era, every SRT model will get the Jailbreak option as a standard feature.
Make Your Special Final Edition Hellcat Even More Special
It appears that Dodge wants you to have a one-of-a-kind Charger or Challenger just as much as you do, so they are making it easy. The Jailbreak treatment applies to the Hellcat models only, so if you were hoping to Jailbreak the Last Call or the Super Stock, you’ll have to live with the special treatment these models already come with. You can, however, get it with the SRT Hellcat and the SRT Hellcat Redeye with its 797-horsepower supercharged V-8 that, when jailbroke, boosts power up to a staggering 807 horsepower.
What Does It Mean to Jailbreak a Car?
If you’re familiar with jailbreaking a phone but are not sure exactly what it means to jailbreak a Dodge, it allows buyers to buy their Charger or Challenger and then choose from 20 different category options to deeply customize it right from the factory. You can change everything from the seats to the exterior badging and paint and the wheels. Some of the extra options for the 2023 models include some blasts from the past. Dodge re-released some heritage colors that you couldn’t get any more until now. Some of these include B5 Blue, Sublime Green, Plum Crazy, and the very popular Destroyer Gray.
Finding a 2023 Dodge Challenger or Charger
The process of getting one of these limited edition Dodge models for 2023 will work a little differently than it did in the past. Instead of sending the cars to the Dodge dealers with preorders and deposits, the cars were allocated out to dealers. Since customers couldn’t pre-order them, it makes them a little harder to find. The solution for this? The “2023 Horsepower Locator” This website allows car shoppers to look up a CDJR dealership to see if they can find a model nearby. This site not only shows where the models are being sold, but it also shows every CDJR dealership’s Charger and Challenger allocation within a specified zip code.
So, What Are Some More Jailbreak Options?
In addition to the increased horsepower for the Redeye, there are eight different stripe options available. And some of these are not actually what you would call a strike because they can be applied to the roof, hood, and trunk. Like your wheels to stand out? Dodge has seven different rim style options and six different brake caliper colors. When you get to the badging, you’ll have five to choose from, including devil red and brass monkey. Now for the inside. The Jailbreak options give you choices for console colors and configurations.
If you’re lucky enough to get one of these Dodge Challengers or Chargers from a CDJR dealership, it’s a pretty sure bet that it won’t look or feel like any other model you come across.
