The team at Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE) has partnered with Chevrolet to make this possible and give you a high output version of both the Tahoe and Suburban.
How Does this Chevrolet Upgrade Work?
When you visit your nearby dealership, you will start with a Chevrolet Suburban or Tahoe that has a 5.3-liter V8 engine under the hood with an RWD setup. This SUV is then sent to the SVE team to build it out to 1,000 horsepower. The beginning of this process is an engine swap in which the smaller engine is ripped out and the LT1 engine is installed. This engine is a 6.8-liter V8 that’s built with an upgraded fuel system, full stainless steel exhaust, and a massive supercharger. All this is created to give you 1,000 horsepower for the power you want to enjoy.
Items You Can Choose for this Upgrade
If you choose the SVE upgrade for your large Chevy SUV, you can enjoy an improved suspension. This option gives you sport springs to lower the ride height by two inches in front and three inches in back. You can also ride on optional 22-inch wheels with Falken Ziex tires and a satin paint finish. Other items are upgraded to make sure this engine and the components of your SUV won’t twist in half when the torque is in use, which also has been improved by a large amount.
A Little Less Power if You Want it
Does the idea of driving 1,000 horsepower around in your large SUV turn you off? If so, SVE also offers a kit that gives you 810 horsepower in the Suburban or Tahoe that you want to drive. The differentiation is identified as stages with the 810 horsepower model being called Stage 1 and the 1,000 horsepower model called Stage 2. The smaller model has a smaller supercharger and the upgraded transmission is optional and not a standard offering for this SUV. The Stage 1 model does give you the option of having 4WD for the ride you want to enjoy.

If you upgrade your Chevrolet Tahoe or Suburban with the SVE performance improvements, you will have a three-year/36,000-mile warranty for the engine and drivetrain to make sure you still have the coverage you expect.
