One can trace Kia's rise in popularity to two things: a focus on proper design and a shift from economy to quality. The carmaker was once seen as a budget solution for those who weren't concerned about buying a good car. Now, they're making good cars and competing with Honda, Toyota, and Ford.
Their turn started when they hired noted automotive designer Peter Schreyer 9 years ago. The shift towards quality continues with the introduction of the 2016 Kia Sorento. Reviews are strong. Buzz is building. Many Kia dealers are moving their older inventory to make room for the most popular model, taking advantage of the reduced gas prices to fuel America's love for the sports utility vehicle.
