Faraday Future Has Tesla in its Cross Hairs

There’s no doubting the fact that Faraday Future is looking to be a leader in the EV market and this is before they even put one vehicle on the road. The only vehicle we’ve seen all of from this company so far is the FFZERO1 which is a concept supercar that could be a track ready sports car that will ride fast and offer a long range. While this supercar is certainly admirable a car that can actually challenge Tesla is what Faraday Future has in store for us now. The latest car that will be offered from this EV automaker is one that will resemble the Tesla Model X. (more…)

Racing for the Attention of Today’s Generation

There’s no doubt that attention spans have waned with the immediacy of the generation we have in our youth of today. Many want their information right now and can process it much faster and in larger quantities than was the case with older generations. In an era where everything we do is shared right now and you have to know what your friends are doing all the time, sports that we watch need to follow a similar format, or at least give us that same sense of urgency so that we can feel like the action is always immediate. How Good a Driver Do You Have to Be?

Driving isn’t something we should take lightly, it’s a privilege and a rite of passage for most of us that represents freedom, growing up and marks one of the first events in our lives that makes us feel as if we are becoming adults. Learning how to drive properly and using the skills necessary to make adjustments on the road to stay in the lane is part of the finer points of driving skill that we learn during this time, but some drivers have more skill than others. The Hobby that Brings Back a Childhood

For many of us the joy of going to the store might have meant you got to pick out a toy to take home if you were well-behaved during the trip. You tried your best to act the way you knew would please your parents and at the end of the shopping a stop in the Hot Wheels aisle was a must. Hot Wheels cars were the perfect toy to reward you as a child and have always been priced right to make it easy for your parents to add an item to the total that was only a minor amount and certainly worth the cost to have you act right in the store. Dream Ride with a GoPro

The GoPro camera has become one of the most popular items that can be purchased to document the action right in front of you. This Point of View (POV) look at the experience someone has given you an idea of what they see and how they see it. The beauty of these items is you can document all sorts of action during the day or event including sporting events and the action from the field or the excitement of a drop from a plane to the ground while skydiving where you get to see how small things look at first. Drowsiness is a Problem for Many Drivers

Unfortunately many of us fill our days so full of activities and scheduled events that we have a hard time sleeping well at night and leave ourselves little time to get ready for the day in the morning. Distractions from behind the wheel can include text messages, talking on cell phones, eating, drinking or other people in the car, but most of us don’t think of drowsiness as a distraction. The reality is if we drive drowsy there’s a much greater likelihood of ending up in an accident than if we drive fully alert and ready for the day. (more…)

Are EV Drivers Smarter than Other Drivers?

While there’s no evidence to suggest that a driver who chooses a vehicle that runs solely on electricity is any smarter than a driver of a gasoline powered vehicle it seems these drivers are making more intelligent choices. This fact is the result of some of the data collected by AAA and the number of service calls they’ve had for EV drivers over the past several years. AAA serves the nation of members which is nearly 56 million strong at this point, but there seem to be a different type of service needed for those driving EVs over those with gasoline engines. Is an Extended Service Contract Worth the Money You Pay?

When you buy a car that’s new to you, but is a used model there are several different things to consider. If you have found a certified pre-owned vehicle at a dealer that sells only one brand of new cars, you’re probably in good shape to agree to an extended service contract (ESC) and have the coverage you need and an easier time filing a claim, but if the car you choose is sold to you “as-is” with no warranty from the dealer but only the offer of a third party ESC you need to beware of what you’re agreeing to purchase. Cars to Make us Think

Every car show has a group of cars that simply make you wonder if the brand is serious about turning the vehicle that was displayed into a production model at some point in the future. Most of the time when we look at these, we are hopeful this will happen and with the most recent Paris Motor Show behind us there are certainly a number of cars that we could love to have on the road in the near future. Here are five models that made their way across the stage in Paris to show us they should be built right away, some that already are heading to the production line and others that are simply concepts at the moment.
