2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV SS Release Delayed: Exciting Other Models Revealed

2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV SS Release Delayed: Exciting Other Models Revealed

In a less than boisterous announcement, we’ve learned deliveries of the new 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV SS will be delayed until spring 2024.

Initial information showed the Blazer SS, 2LT, and RS models all arriving in the fall to provide a new era for this SUV name. The 2024 model is the first all-electric lineup offered, making an incredible transition from a gas-powered sporty SUV to a new model that delivers plenty of driving fun while using the Ultium electric vehicle platform. While we wait for the performance-oriented SS model, we can enjoy the first two models hitting the market.

The 2LT trim comes first

The 2LT trim will serve as the base model until the 1LT trim arrives. This model comes with an FWD powertrain and starts at nearly $47,595. This new electric Chevy SUV has a medium-sized battery pack delivering up to 293 miles of driving in the FWD versions. If you opt for the dual-motor AWD version, you’ll enjoy more power but will also have a lowered driving range in this SUV. This trim also brings a large 17.7-inch touchscreen, an 11-inch digital gauge cluster, and 19-inch wheels, to name a few of the great features offered.

The RS brings more range to the mix

Until the new 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV SS arrives, the RS model will be the range-topper or this performance EV SUV. The RS brings up to 320 miles of driving range, which is the longest range in the Blazer lineup. The RS can be had in FWD, RWD, or AWD, which is certainly unique in the automotive world. Adding the Comfort and Convenience package gives this electric SUV up to 1,500 pounds of towing capacity. The RS trim includes a power liftgate, heated/ventilated front seats, and a heated steering wheel.

How long does it take to charge this EV?

The Ultium battery pack found in this Chevy EV can take on 87 miles of electricity in only 10 minutes. Doing a little math, you can see that this electric SUV can receive most of its charging range in under 30 minutes. The new Blazer EV also has an 11.5 kW onboard AC charger to make it easy to plug in tools at the jobsite, items for your tailgating party, or your home appliances when the power goes out. The Blazer EV is useful as a charger for other EVs as well.

The electric Blazer continues with a sporty design

When Chevrolet brought back the Blazer name, it came with styling cues found in the iconic Chevy sports cars. You can still see styling influences from the Camaro and Corvette in the Blazer, making it one of the most stylish and sporty SUVs on the road. The new Blazer EV offers several great colors, swooping shoulders, a low roofline, and the head-turning shape you want to see. If you’re looking for an electric SUV with incredible style, you’ll love the look and feel of the Blazer.

When will the SS model arrive?

Originally we were supposed to have the range-topping 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV SS in the fall with the 2LT and RS trims. A recent announcement shows this new top model appearing in the spring along with the Police Pursuit Vehicle (PPV) version of this SUV. The SS trim will deliver 557 horsepower and 648 lb-ft of torque, which certainly makes it an SUV that we’re looking forward to driving when it arrives. The Blazer EV SS also rides on 22-inch wheels, has AWD, and offers a driving range of 290 miles on a single charge.

This version also brings the benefits of the Wide Open Watts launch system made famous in the GM Hummer EV. You’ll also enjoy the large Brembo brakes, a track-tuned suspension, and standard summer performance tires that give the Blazer EV SS serious performance results.

The 1LT base model comes last

The final Blazer EV to hit the market will be the 1LT trim which has the lowest driving range at 247 miles, the smallest battery pack, and an FWD setup. This base model of the Blazer EV will be a good entry point for those drivers looking for a more affordable version of this sporty and stylish electric SUV.

Although the new 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV SS is delayed until spring, the RS and 2LT models arrive in the fall and provide EV shoppers with a sporty, fun, and enjoyable SUV to drive. Will the Blazer EV be the electric vehicle you love to drive every day?
