The Top Selling Corvette Trim

We are now in the seventh generation of the Corvette, signified by the C7 that we add to nearly every conversation, and the trim level that’s sold the most in the past isn’t one you might be familiar with right away. The Corvette has been the car most Americans have dreamed of buying and owning all their lives. In other countries the dream is to buy an exotic supercar, but there are so many to choose from its difficult to decide. In the United States, all that dreaming has gone into one car, the Corvette and the sales have shown for this longstanding sports car. (more…)

The Next Step for the Corvette

The Chevrolet Corvette has been more than just a symbol to us for many years. This car represents the pinnacle of what American engineering can accomplish and has been our own version of a supercar for many decades. At first the Corvette was made to take on some of the European speedsters and show off with great handling and a track prowess that was unmatched. Over time other automakers have passed by the Corvette in both price and engineering but this symbol of Americana isn’t taking anything lying down. (more…)

The Super Corvette is Poised for a Return

Corvette has been a name that has stood for the top end affordable supercar from an American automaker for many decades. There have been others that have come and gone and even some that stick around with exorbitant prices and low sales volume, but the Corvette is the every person supercar that comes in a wide variety of builds to give us the performance we want and a car that in many cases is track ready. When it comes to driving excitement on a scale that is not going to break the bank the Corvette has always been the name we know and trust and feel as good about as we do the American flag. (more…)

When Fun Meets Efficiency

When we buy a car we normally need it to be the right vehicle for every driving situation we run into. Getting More from Less

Getting More from Less

This may be the theme of the automotive world as we see it now. Nearly every single automaker works to find a way to get more out of their vehicles. The days of being able to make cars with bigger engines and let the emissions be damned has long passed us by and now automakers turn to other forms of creating more from even less. The direction of the automotive world is heading toward more efficiency and power from engines that produce the lowest emissions ever, which has created a dynamic of lighter materials that are now used in the building of vehicles. Lookout Midsized Truck World

It’s a great thing that GM finally decided to reenter the midsized truck market. The entire segment was becoming extremely stale and the automakers didn’t seem to care too much. The trucks that were still part of the market when GM left for a short few years were still being made with very few updates once GM came back with two of the best midsized trucks we could ever see. This resurgence by the Canyon and Colorado has created a market where the other brands in the market are working toward new and improved models because theirs just don’t stack up anymore. (more…)

Sleeping Their Way to Success

What is a “sleeper”?  In most cases this is a person or a product that ends up giving a performance that greatly outdoes the expectations of the market or industry.  In the automotive industry there are many sleepers that look like they might do well, but little is actually expected of them.  What happens when these sleepers start to become the leaders in sales and on the market, the manufacturer has to scramble to keep up with the demand, but certainly is able to be giddy about the unexpected success of one of their products.  Here are some cars that were deemed sleepers over the past several years. Will it be or Won’t it be?

Whether that’s a mock of Shakespeare’s famous quote or simply a happy accident is hard for me to determine but the subject today is whether or not a car will become a classic in several years.  Typically a classic car has to be at least 25 years old, but for the interest of a real classic it also has be to be one that is desirable and brings a bit of charm form the era it was made in.  With cars these days made almost to be disposable after a few years it’s interesting to discuss whether or not some are meant to become classics.  Someday our future generations will be able to say “they sure don’t make them like they did in 2015 anymore”; let’s look at some vehicle they might be talking about. When You still Want to Shift

For many years the idea of driving a sports car with an automatic transmission was laughable.  These transmissions were capable of taking the shifting off our plates but couldn’t give us the fuel mileage we would get from a manual and certainly couldn’t give us the performance we desired.  That has all changed and now more cars are fitted with automatics than ever before because they are now made to deliver better fuel mileage and certainly can shift faster and smoother than we can ourselves.  Even with that thought, if you want to enjoy a manual transmission and handle the shifting duties yourself, here are twenty cars that still allow you to do so. Who Knows Fuel Cells Better?

Whenever we have new technology on the market in the automotive world we are quick to find many who try to mimic this tech and build something that is better or more advanced.  This has been the case throughout history, not only in the automotive industry, but across all industry.  Currently the Tesla models show us a version of the fuel cell that we have not come across before.  Not only did they perfect the actual fuel cell to such a point of dispelling any need for a gasoline backup (which really could be useful) but they used the fuel cell to balance out the weight of the vehicles by using the whole floorboard for the system.
