The race is on for tech companies like Google, Apple, and others to build their own driverless vehicle. Google has prototypes, and it is rumoured that Apple does as well. Safety has been a big concern when it comes to the self-driving vehicles, with many arguing that it isn’t safe. Google has set out to prove those critics wrong by creating a completely safe vehicle for both passengers, pedestrians, and bicyclists. How you may ask? By adding external airbags to the car. eBay Motors has Buyers. Where are the Dealers?

There are few websites that helped change the way vehicles were sold as much as eBay Motors. While goods and services were often sold online very easily 10-15 years ago, the car business was one that stayed in the brick and mortar world for as long as possible. Great strides have been made, but there's still room for improvement. With over 5 million vehicles sold on eBay Motors, it's a wonder that it hasn't picked up more steam amongst car dealers. The company is trying to change this with further initiatives to let dealers know the benefits and potential gains they can make by listing more of their inventory on the site. Those benefits would seem obvious, but there is still a disproportionate number of buyers compared to the number of vehicles available on the site. (more…)

2015 Volkswagen Beetle: An Icon Modernized

The Beetle has been around for decades, although it spent a number of years on the shelf as a car that no longer gained the same interest as a new vehicle after its first time round many years ago. Those old Beetles ran on very little mechanics and offered a huge amount of fuel efficiency with very few actual features to enjoy. Still, the thought of owning a Beetle, especially one that was a convertible made many buyers flock to pick them up when they were new and then once again as the original owners sold them when their families were growing. Many Beetles of old are still prowling the streets and make fantastic cars for a fun project as they don’t require a lot of work to have them running and allowing owners to have a great time cruising around in them. Something New to Look Forward to from BMW

BMW has introduced us to the i-Series of vehicle in the past couple year giving us cars that are built to be electric-hybrid vehicles that destroy the old ideal that a hybrid vehicle could not be a high performance machine. Of course Porsche already did this with the 918 Spyder, but at nearly $1M for the Porsche and only one version to select, BMW chose to create a lineup of these types of cars by giving us the i-3 and i-8 to whet our whistles and begin the imagination moving regarding what these cars can actually become. In this world filled with technology and advanced instantaneous gratification we see people almost daily trying to perform the task of driving without the first thought of what they are actually doing. Instead of paying attention to the road or the rules of the road, they are busy on their cell phones (hopefully not texting, but you know some of them are), eating, drinking, looking for stations on the radio or just about anything but actually being in tune with the task at hand.
