Another Car We Want to Drive

Whether we need to relax the regulations that are in place for the automotive industry or automakers need to make sure every car they make can be offered in the US, something needs to be done. There are too many great cars on the market today that never get to be sold or driven in the US for the reasons of power, pollution and adherence to the safety standards that our regulatory bodies seem to think are necessary. We miss out on so many great cars it almost seems unfair for the country that has so much space and room to drive to not have the absolute best driving cars in the world. (more…)

2017 BMW i8: Big Performance and a Small Engine

The i8 has become a more familiar model than it was in the past. This car is one of the most impressive designs to ever come to the market and it offers us a look at what BMW has in mind for the future. The i8 is the halo car that doesn’t use a halo style engine. Most of the top models from automakers use massive engines to get the grunt and the growl just right in the car, but this one uses a tiny engine that’s almost too small for the smallest compact cars on the market. (more…)

The BMW Pickup Truck

Yes, I said there was a BMW pickup truck that was built. As far as we know there was only ever one built, but this little truck was something to behold and a bit of a Frankenstein’s Monster of sorts. BMW has never been a company that embraced the idea of hauling and carrying as a goal for their vehicles, but they apparently decided they needed one such vehicle at just the right time and now this single BMW pickup truck is a bit of legend in the BMW world. What was this truck and how come it never came to be a production model? Let’s find out for ourselves. (more…)

What did BMW bring to Paris?

BMW has been working on the X2, we know this because spy shots have been shared on many different automotive websites, but they chose to bring a concept model of the new X2 to the Paris Motor Show to give us a look at what will be their next luxury compact crossover model. This SUV came in bathed in a red-orange paint with gray cladding on the sides to give it a dramatic look and the appearance of an SUV up front and a sports coupe in the back to make the X2 ad combination vehicle that you want to pay close attention to. 2017 BMW X3: Sport and Activity

BMW is determined to redefine the classifications we’re used to for vehicles. Whatever happened to the days when you had sports cars, trucks, vans, cars and SUVs? Now ever category appears to have numerous sub-categories causing some confusion and avoiding any form of direct competition among the vehicles offered. The BMW X3 is a great example of what the brand is attempting to do to the market. This isn’t an SUV or even a CUV, it’s an SAV which stands for Sport Activity Vehicle and is probably the right name for what the X3 happens to be. (more…)

The Small Differences of the BMW M2

There has been a lot of chatter around regarding the M2 from BMW. This car is one that came on the scene as an expected top performer in the market of great driving vehicles, but some feel it’s not quite up to par with what was expected. While we can relive the glory days of the best driving machines on the market, making them more efficient and agile is a task that creates a completely different feeling in these cars than ever before. To put it simply, we can’t build cars today like we used to, but we can still build some great cars. (more…)

The Battle at the Top

When it comes to the flagship vehicles of different manufacturers the expectation is that you have a vehicle which gives you every feature and benefit the manufacturer can think of and add. This is certainly what you get when you look at the Lexus LS and the BMW 7-Series, but which one of these two flagship sedans is the one you want to drive the most? Are you more enticed by the Japanese style and modern features of the Lexus or are you more apt to lean toward the longstanding performance and perfection of the German engineering contained in the BMW model? Let’s look at them both. (more…)

2016 BMW i3: The Sporty EV Hatchback

While many of us enjoy the drive of the Nissan Leaf and the Chevrolet Volt the BMW i3 is where you want to be if you want to drive a car that offers some luxury features to the mix of EV equipment. The i3 has carbon fiber reinforcements and open space interior concept and can be had with a gasoline backup engine that helps make it a car that isn’t limited to where charging stations are placed like the Nissan Leaf. This is a great little EV hatchback that you can enjoy even while seeing the Bolt and Model 3 on the horizon from Chevrolet and Tesla. (more…)

2016 BMW X1: Small but Mighty

In the automotive industry we have seen vehicles continually get smaller, especially the SUVs that make up a large portion of the market now. The BMW X1 is the smallest SUV offered by BMW and is a lot less utility than it is a larger car to drive. In fact this vehicle is small enough that BMW has classified it as an SAV or Sport Activity Vehicle, taking away the thought of any utility at all from this little machine. What you get with the X1 is a higher ride height than the sedans but the driving dynamics of the sports sedans to make it a well-blended vehicle for you to enjoy. (more…)

When Fun Meets Efficiency

When we buy a car we normally need it to be the right vehicle for every driving situation we run into. In some cases this is just fine, but if you really want a car that is fun on the road with the curve hugging ability to take on any challenge thrown at it but you also want to be able to drive this car on a daily basis that severely limits your choices. This list is a group of cars that are all a lot of fun to drive, with some of the best technology and performance for you to enjoy, and they all will deliver more than thirty mpg for you to enjoy the drive every day.
