Improvements for the Volkswagen e-Golf

In an effort to improve what we love about EV models it seems like more and more automakers are turning up the heat on the range and the power their EV models offer. Right now this segment of the market is one of the smallest and with the lowest sales numbers, but some models are making changes that hopefully will help make a difference and provide us with more of what we want on the market. While most still fight the fact that charging takes a long time, usually overnight, there are more benefits than ever to driving a great EV model. (more…)

Other Large Cities May Need to Get on the Los Angeles Bandwagon

Over the history of Los Angeles this city has both been a gorgeous place of growth and development in Southern California and been a smog riddled pollution zone that trapped heat and made it hard to breath. The smog and the pollution mostly came from factories and from vehicles being driven in this area where it seemed more people were headed to live and make a life for themselves. Since the turn of the century, the officials in California, especially in Los Angeles, have worked to create a way to reduce the air pollution of this city and create a better quality of life for residents. Will the Trump Policies put FCA Out of Business?

One of the platforms the new President has stood on was bringing jobs back into the US, especially in the automotive industry. As one of the largest industries in the world and the one that continues to evolve and expand year over year the desire is to bring jobs back into the US, but the action that’s been proposed for imported vehicles is a high tax on the imports when they come into the country. This move could be met with serious challenges by all of the major American automotive brands, but FCA could be hurt worse than the other two. (more…)

Succumbing to the Pressure

In the automotive market, there are often cars that are built as a reaction to the pressure from the competition. When one automaker builds a style of vehicle the rest have to follow, especially if the trend is successful on the first vehicle. Soon we see an entire market change toward this new style of vehicle that’s no longer new but a successful and impressive class of vehicle. This was certainly the case as SUVs began to get smaller and that part of the market hasn’t even reached its peak yet, but there’s another part of the market that’s changing and more automakers are getting on board than ever; the hot hatch. The Malibu let the Accord in and the Rest is History

The mid 1970s was a time of transition for the American automobile market. For years the cars built by our domestic brands were large and imposing, giving us vehicles that offered massive size and weight but did very little to adhere to the new emissions and fuel regulations. In fact, one exercise in the failure of the domestic brands to change and adapt was found in the fact that Honda was able to transform a Chevrolet Impala and make it pass the new emissions standards that GM claimed were impossible to meet.
