The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Rocks Star: a Marriage of Mopar Parts

Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Rocks Star

We love the Wrangler. That statement is almost as short and to the point as a Jeep press release where they would rather see their Wrangler do the talking for itself rather than tell you all about it. The Rubicon model that made its way to Geneva recently gave Europeans a look at what we enjoy seeing on a daily basis as this Wrangler showed off with awesome Mopar Accessories to make it a Wrangler that is loaded up with goodies to enjoy and with the yellow paint that was chosen, the Jeep stole the show over many other off road competitors, even on a turntable platform.

The black on yellow look or vice versa (depending on how you want to look at it) gave this Rubicon a look that would make anyone happy with this SUV. The fuel cap, door handles, grill, skidplates and fenders were all done in black to give the offsetting look. There was even a US Army star put on the rear quarter panel and on the hood of the Jeep to give a nostalgic feeling of what the Jeep was once meant for, moving military personnel over rough terrain during World War II.

This showcase offering was set up to be offered on the European market and came with a powerful 2.8-liter turbodiesel engine with a five-speed automatic transmission attached to it. This gives the Jeep a power output of 197 horsepower and 339 lb.-ft. of torque to ensure it can power it way through the wilderness without causing massive gas shortages as the diesel engine is fairly efficient. This engine is necessary on the European version as it is more fuel efficient than the US versions and with the fuel prices so high in Europe the need for an efficient vehicle is obvious.

As it is a Wrangler, the Rocks Star version shown at the show gained a massive following and more attention than you might expect. The Jeep Wrangler has been around for over seventy years so you might not expect there to be much attraction to a vehicle that has been around so long, but when packaged the way this one was the following was huge. Many of us have seen the Wrangler when its stripped down and we are driving it to the beach, this model showed off with an infotainment system that provided the navigation system needed to drive anywhere on the planet.

The desire of FCA to give the Jeep a showcase to enjoy and offer great appeal for those who will want an affordable and exciting new SUV to purchase. With love for the Jeep, especially a Rubicon model full of Mopar parts and an engine that is built for the European market this is one time vehicles form the US have shown strength and promise over those that are built for the market overseas from us to show some true American spirit and pride.
