For the 2017 model year the Encore is given a new look and some new technology and packages for you to have the vehicle you want in an upgraded fashion. This new Encore will still have the same 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that is offered now. This will be the only engine offered and it will be available with either 138 or 156 horsepower depending upon the tuning you choose. This will give you a familiar drivetrain that you know won’t let you down when on the road and this allows you to have a vehicle that is easy to enjoy and comes in an extremely attractive look. The changes you will notice, other than the styling come in with the various trim levels that will be offered.
You can choose from one of five different trim levels with this new Encores. The base Encore will be the 1SB, then there is the 1SH which is the Sport Touring model, followed by the 1SD which is the Encore Convenience, which has the 1SL Encore Leather trim on its heels and finally at the top of the trim level tree for this vehicle is the 1SN which is the Encore Premium. You will have front-wheel drive as the standard setup but you can opt for all-wheel drive and have control to the ground at all four corners of your driving.
While these trim levels are great for you to be able to enjoy some great driving, it’s important to have new standard offerings as well to ensure those who want to drive the Encore will not have to pay more than they desire for the vehicle. The new standard features include push button starting, keyless entry, an eight-inch touchscreen, and a new center stack layout to showcase the frameless screen. The new version of Buick’s IntelliLink infotainment system will operate Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and offer the 4G LTE Wi-Fi capabilities we all want to have on any GM model.
It may be difficult to hold off until fall to purchase that new vehicle, but if you do you can be certain you will enjoy the fun and upgrades the Buick Encore has to offer. This vehicle gives you a premium feeling on all trim levels and drives like a car while offering the added space you need in a subcompact SUV.
