Who Is Kubota?

Your local Kubota dealer is part of the Kubota Corporation. They introduced their first tractor in the U.S. in 1969. The Kubota 21 HP L200 sub compact tractor was such a huge success. It lead to the formation of the Kubota Tractor Corporation. Since they had so much success with their first tractor, they soon expanded their products in the U.S. market. Now, 50 years later, you can find Kubota products for lawn mowing, construction, agriculture, and hay equipment.

Kubota Gives Back

There are over 1,100 Kubota dealers across the country. From the very beginning, founder Gonshiro Kubota wanted to build a company that not only excelled with its technological innovations but also with its support to the community. Throughout the company, Kubota provides support to local communities by donating the use of their equipment and donating money to people who want to work to help make their communities a better place.

The First Hometown Proud Grant

In the spring of 2021, Kubota announced their first community revitalization grant program. They called it Hometown Proud and offered it to all cities, towns, and nonprofits around the country. All they had to do was submit an application, and they could win $100,000 and use Kubota equipment to revitalize or refurbish a public space.

The first award went to Wayne County, TN Ag Center in Collinwood, Tennessee. They used the money and the equipment to develop the grounds for the first-ever dedicated agricultural center in the county.

Kubota Goes Big For the Second Annual Hometown Proud Grand

This year Kubota celebrates their 50th anniversary, and to mark this incredible achievement, they expanded their Hometown Proud Grant Program. For 2022, instead of just one $100,000 grant, they are giving out five $100,000 grants. One for each of the regions where the company does business.

But it doesn’t end there; once Kubota selects the five winners, the public will have the chance to vote for one of the winners to receive the Kubota Community Choice Award, and an additional $100,000 to go towards their project.

So How Do I Apply For One of These Grants?

Applying is easy. You just need to go to the KubotaHometownProud.com website to submit an application. To qualify, the submission needs to be entered by a nonprofit organization, a city, a town, or a municipality. The form asks for information about the project and its location, and Kubota also wants to know the name of the project, and what type of equipment is needed to accomplish it.

Local Kubota dealers are not only part of a company that has the compact tractors to get the the small jobs done, it’s also a company with a vision to make communities better. The Hometown Proud Grant Program is one part of this vision and it’s bigger and better this year.
