Ultra-Luxury Cadillac Celestiq: A New Era for Electric Vehicles

Ultra-Luxury Cadillac Celestiq: A New Era for Electric Vehicles

Cadillac has created a new way to rival the top luxury names in the world with the all-electric Cadillac Celestiq ultra-luxury sedan.

From its initial inception to the reality that it’s ready to hit the market, the Celestiq has aimed at the top luxury names in the industry. The newly announced starting price of $340,000 rivals prices for top names, including Bentley and Rolls-Royce. This new EV will take high-end buyers through a process that allows them to build and create the right electric vehicle for the well-heeled. Can Cadillac provide the posh and luxurious comfort these shoppers are used to enjoying?

Is the pricing competitive?

If the new Celestiq is capable of hitting the highest notes of pure luxury opulence, the price could be right on the market. This figure is lower than the new all-electric Rolls-Royce Spectre coupe, which starts at $420,000. To date, Bentley says it intends to offer new EVs that will cost approximately $274,000, which puts the Celestiq a little higher than the Bentley. If this Caddy is properly equipped, it could actually hit the mark and bring Cadillac into the ultra-luxury market, which would be a huge step forward for a brand that was nearly dead a little more than a decade ago.

Cadillac provides plentiful power and performance

The new Cadillac Celestiq uses a dual-motor electric powertrain with a 111-kWh battery pack. This system is good for 300 miles of driving range and up to 600 horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque. Cadillac provides standard AWD in this new top-end EV, which gives drivers excellent control on any road. This new EV is also fast, hitting 60 mph in about 3.8 seconds.

In addition to the impressive power and sprint speed, the high-end Caddy also includes all-wheel steering and the GM Ultra Cruise, which is a step up from the Super Cruise.

Go bespoke in this Caddy

When a luxury car enters the highest level of comfort and driving perfection, it’s important this car offers similar qualities as those already occupying the space. This means Cadillac must include ways to customize and upgrade the Celestiq with a design house similar to what we find with Rolls-Royce and Bentley. GM understands this need and offers the new Cadillac Celestiq with a ton of impressive customization options. There are several different design themes offered with specific colors and materials, providing a great place to begin building this new EV.

A Cadillac concierge is dedicated to guiding any client/customer through the design process to select items that work well together and complement the qualities of this new high-end electric vehicle. For those shoppers looking for something unique and special, they will have the opportunity to work with talented designers to bring the vision to life. This is similar to what Rolls-Royce offers, with some clients purchasing a test vehicle for the team to utilize before the final product is built and offered to the customer.

Why build the Celestiq at all?

Although Cadillac was on the verge of extinction only a few short years ago, the brand dates back more than a century and was one of the first high-end coachbuilders in the entire automotive world. Entering the electric vehicle world offers the perfect opportunity for the brand to emerge as a high-end brand with vehicles for consumers generally shopping in the Rolls-Royce, Bentley, and Aston Martin world. The new 2024 Cadillac Celestiq could be the most important model in the entire 120-year history of the brand.

A futuristic EV for those ready to step forward

Forget traditional styling and bodywork this new Caddy is forward-thinking and brings excellent style to the mix. This impressive EV has smooth surfaces with few lines and interruptions in the flow across the body. You won’t see any belt moldings, door handles, or other items that cut down on aerodynamics. The large power-operated front and rear doors open at the touch of a nearly hidden button on the B-pillar. When the key fob is within 15 feet of the car, a welcoming light show begins, offering an impressive welcome to the driver before they enter the vehicle.

Traditional stamping processes aren’t used for some of the features of this incredible EV. Every Cadillac Celestiq features 300-plus fabricated items made through a process of bending and folding metal like origami. This vehicle also boasts 3D printing with 115 parts made through this process, including the steering wheel and much of the interior trim.

Customers willing to spend $340,000 for the new 2024 Cadillac Celestiq will find a process and a vehicle that can be built to their tastes. Could this be you?
