Best on the Road: Minivan Edition

The minivan has gotten a bad reputation over the past twenty years. New moms look at them in horror, as if they’re the very representation of their forgotten footloose and fancy-free days. Some dads view them as the physical manifestation of their emasculation. However, minivans aren’t the bad guys they’re made out to be. They’re super spacious and incredibly practical, and not in a bad way. These bad boys can haul A LOT of stuff. They’re also oddly comfortable, in an “am I on the couch or in the car” type of way. What many families are quickly discovering, is that once you go minivan, you never go back. (more…)

Oh, the Clarity

Our future on this planet is unclear. If we’re to believe some of the hype, the human race may end up producing enough waste to flood the earth as the polar ice caps are melted down to nothing. If you’re on the other side of that argument, we’ll be just fine and we can continue living life as we have been. It’s no secret, however, that many auto manufacturers have been looking to decrease our dependency on oil and with some moderate success. It’s not often that the automotive industry does something so futuristic and mind-blowing that its production is limited to a very specific market, but Honda has managed to make that happen. (more…)

Honda’s Commitment to the Environment

Knowing the true intention of the businesses we frequent is always a good thing, and transparency is key. We like to know if we’re purchasing something from a company with a solid set of core values, especially when they align with our own morals. If a particular business shows a connection with the changing and growing world around them, it makes it easier for us to want to be a part of it all. If a company takes care of their employees and the surrounding community, it’s a heartwarming feeling to be able to support their efforts. (more…)

The Malibu let the Accord in and the Rest is History

The mid 1970s was a time of transition for the American automobile market. For years the cars built by our domestic brands were large and imposing, giving us vehicles that offered massive size and weight but did very little to adhere to the new emissions and fuel regulations. In fact, one exercise in the failure of the domestic brands to change and adapt was found in the fact that Honda was able to transform a Chevrolet Impala and make it pass the new emissions standards that GM claimed were impossible to meet. Amazing Performance from Honda Last Year

The 2016 model year was a stellar year for the automotive industry with more sales of new vehicles than any other year in the history of the industry. With these impressive sales over the past twelve months, the expectation is that most automakers would have experienced exceptional sales in the segments they compete in over that time. Honda has been one of our favorite brands over the past several decades and certainly is a brand that we trust for reliability, resale value and longevity when we want a vehicle that’s perfect to drive on the road. 2017 Will bring us a New Honda Ridgeline

The Ridgeline came in like gangbusters in a market that was saturated with full size and midsized trucks that offers excellent power but not as much of an attractive appearance as the Ridgeline. This truck which appeared on the scenes ten years ago to give us a truck that was a bit different than the rest. The Ridgeline made its way as the original unibody truck while the rest all had bed behind cab setups that nearly appeared to be completely separate and only attached by the frame underneath. (more…)

The Honda Crosstour is Gone

Even Honda lays an egg every now and then. The Crosstour was one of them. The much-maligned crossover had it bad from the start and never really recovered both in reviews as well as sales. It was uninspiring, a stark contrast to things that the Japanese automaker has done in the last couple of years. We won't really miss it. We're just glad it didn't stick around for long enough to make it awkward when it left. (more…)
