The Off-Road Enthusiast 4×4

We’ve talked often about driving purists and how much they tend to hate the automation of everything, even so much as to want the manual transmission to live on much longer. While this group can complain about their electronic aids that make it easier for everyone to hit the track with confidence, the off-road enthusiasts that have been driving forever have similar complaints to lodge. Their complaints are more about terrain assistance technology which makes it so their vehicles do a vast majority of the work in an off road setting, taking the control virtually out of their hands. Before Its Release New Plans are in Place

Industry and technology are moving a faster pace than they ever have before. It used to be that an automaker could introduce a new model on the market and expect it to be the one that leads the way for a few years before all other automakers caught up, but that’s no longer the case. The market is changing every year and before a vehicle ever makes it to the showroom plans are already in place to make changes to improve what that vehicle is and how it performs because that’s the speed of the competition and everyone has to keep up. Exciting News for the Volkswagen I.D.

September was the month for Volkswagen to pull itself out of the gutter that was caused by the diesel scandal from only a year ago. What happened in September? Volkswagen came to the Paris Motor Show with a vehicle concept that looks like it’s ready to hit the production line right away and be a great new model for us to drive and enjoy. The new Volkswagen I.D. concept showed us the beginning of the commitment from this company to be a leader in EV technology and offer us the vehicles we want to enjoy on the road. In this way, Volkswagen is correcting errors from its past. (more…)

2017 Mitsubishi Outlander: Checking Off Boxes For You

The Mitsubishi name has taken several hits lately, but these haven’t affected the most successful segment of their lineup, the SUV models. The Outlander is one of the most useful SUVs you’ll find on the market today and it makes an effort to check off lots of boxes to be the ride you want to enjoy. Does this SUV offer a variety of engines; yes it does. Can you have the Outlander with AWD; absolutely. Is there a great warranty; yup. Is there a towing capacity that makes a difference; you betcha. Are you able to take seven people off road in this vehicle; of course. (more…)

2017 Nissan Titan: A New Version of the Truck You Trust

It seems like eons ago that the first Nissan Titan made its way onto the market to be a new half-ton pickup for us to make use of and admire. For the first few years this truck offered the performance and power we wanted to enjoy, but without upgrades or a new generation for so long the Nissan Titan became an also-ran truck that found its way to the bottom of the truck lineup and ended up being a model that was mostly forgotten by most of the world, but certainly not by Nissan. 2017 BMW i8: Big Performance and a Small Engine

The i8 has become a more familiar model than it was in the past. This car is one of the most impressive designs to ever come to the market and it offers us a look at what BMW has in mind for the future. The i8 is the halo car that doesn’t use a halo style engine. Most of the top models from automakers use massive engines to get the grunt and the growl just right in the car, but this one uses a tiny engine that’s almost too small for the smallest compact cars on the market. 2017 Chevrolet Silverado: Still the Right Stuff

As much as some companies want you to think the style or size of their trucks is better for what you need to do, Chevrolet continues to offer you conservative and attractive model that makes most truck owners smile. This group understands the need for a truck to be tough, rugged and capable and the fact that style points don’t matter on the outside. This same group does enjoy the fact that Chevrolet does a fantastic job of offering some models as the high end, nearly luxury versions that make it easier to enjoy the ride after a long day of working on the jobsite. The BMW Pickup Truck

Yes, I said there was a BMW pickup truck that was built. As far as we know there was only ever one built, but this little truck was something to behold and a bit of a Frankenstein’s Monster of sorts. BMW has never been a company that embraced the idea of hauling and carrying as a goal for their vehicles, but they apparently decided they needed one such vehicle at just the right time and now this single BMW pickup truck is a bit of legend in the BMW world. What was this truck and how come it never came to be a production model? Let’s find out for ourselves. (more…)

More Power in a Car That Begs for it

We’ve known there were secrets lying under the hood of Ford vehicles with the EcoBoost engines, but we weren’t exactly sure how to unlock these secrets. The word has been out for a while to let us know that we could tune these engines up to have more power output from under the hood, but there was never any official word as to how we could accomplish this task and create the power we wanted to enjoy. Now, the secret is no more and the performance you can enjoy is being shared so that you can improve at least one EcoBoost engine. (more…)

The Odd Vehicle That’s sure to be an Instant Classic

Yes, it takes at least a quarter of a century for a vehicle to qualify as a classic model and something built in 2007 feels like it could be just hype because that year feels like it was just yesterday, but let’s take a closer look at what I’m talking about. In 2007, the year before the automotive market dropped like a rock, it seemed like every automaker in the world was clamoring to make something out of nothing and the market was filled with interesting vehicles from all over the world, but one in particular offers us the subject matter of this post.
