Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is a Snow Drifting Head Turner in New Teaser

In a newly released teaser video, Hyundai unveils their all-new Ioniq 5 N in the most glorious way possible; drifting through snowscapes in the frozen forests of Sweden.

The teaser — which spoiler alert (pun intended) — does add some unrealistic flair. If you listen closely, you’ll hear the roar of the exhaust in the teaser, when in reality, this all-electric vehicle is entirely silent. We get it though, Hyundai, you need a bit of hum to drum up the well-deserved excitement.

As the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N drifts through the frozen landscape, you really forget for a minute that you’re looking at an electric vehicle. The semi-aggressive and sporty hatchback body style really speaks to the appeal and power that Hyundai is going for.

Unlike the currently available Hyundai Ioniq 5, this newer variation delivers in terms of unrelenting power that sports enthusiasts crave. When the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is not cutting into the snow, we can snag glimpses of its enhanced and beefed-up body style.

Included in this body style are a sportier-looking body kit, a deeper front bumper, a roof-mounted spoiler, side skirts, and bigger wheels. These details command your attention and give Hyundai an all-new image of sports power.

Although the teaser does not show glimpses of the cabin, drivers can expect sports seats for the front passenger, as well as an instrument cluster display that is model specific to the N. Hyundai is expected to release more details about the N in the coming weeks. It won’t be until the end of 2023 that you’ll be able to get your hands on your very own Hyundai Ioniq 5 N.

Ioniq 5 Pushes Electric Performance to New Levels

The much-tamer Hyundai Ioniq 5 has plenty to brag about in its own right. This model has won countless recognitions including’s Star Award for Editor’s Choice. The fully electric Ioniq 5 is outfitted with a 77.4 Kilowatt-hour battery that is paired with two electric motors and delivers a total of 320 horsepower.

On the new Ioniq 5 N, drivers can look forward to even more power. Reports indicate that the Ioniq 5 n will likely mimic the sporty Kia EV6 GT which is currently outfitted with a 77.4 Kilowatt-hour battery pack and produces a whopping 576 horsepower.

The new Ioniq 5 N will also feature a more advanced braking and suspension system along with model-specific wheels so that you can confidently rev up your engines. While the current Ioniq 5 delivers a total of 303 miles of driving range, it’s not yet clear how
much driving range its sportier counterpart will deliver. Judging from the current teas and likely specifications, drivers could look forward to a greater driving range as well.

Hyundai has launched its official first teaser dubbed “Episode 1” and will likely continue releasing more until the full unveil. Until then, prospective drivers will just have to wait out the teasers until they can reserve their own model at their local Hyundai dealer.
