Our neighbors to the north are about to enjoy the benefits of driving a new Kia hatchback. The new 2020 Kia Forte5 has been introduced in Canada to offer both a sedan and hatchback body style to customers. The new hatchback model is made to provide a sporty look that allows this to be a performance-based model that’s small and active on the road. The Kia lineup has been one that’s been admired for many years and adding an updated of this car to the mix gives the brand an excellent selection of models for anyone to choose from.
What will the new Kia Forte5 Offer?
There will be two engines offered for this new hatchback model. These engines include a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder for the power choices needed. While performance figures weren’t disclosed, other Kia vehicles that make use of the same turbocharged engine make 201 horsepower and 195 lb.-ft. of torque while the naturally aspirated model gives you 147 horsepower and 132 lb.-ft. of torque for the drive. There are two transmissions offered in this new Forte5 as well which are a seven-speed dual clutch automatic and a new Intelligent Variable CVT automatic.
More of What You Want to Know
So far, we don’t know much about the trim levels that will be offered for the new Kia Forte5. Even so, Kia is promising to give us features that include 18-inch alloy wheels, dual tip exhaust ports, a red-accented grill, sports seats, an alloy gear knob, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and paddle shifters. This list of features makes it easy for us to feel that the new Kia Forte5 will be a hatchback that offers the performance items we want to experience when it’s time to head out for a drive.
Ready for Canada, but not the United States
So far, we haven’t received any information that tells us that the new Forte5 will be offered in the US at all. While this little hatchback will be ready to drive around on the roads in Canada, it seems that Kia hasn’t decided to offer this car in the US just yet. With the number of small sedans and hatchbacks that are being deleted from the American automakers, it might be a good idea for Kia to add the Forte5 to be a strong presence that can be enjoyed by those who want to have this car to drive.
The Kia Forte Alternative
For now, if you want to enjoy the drive of a Kia Forte, you can. The Forte sedan is offered and it’s a new model that offers you the handsome styling you want to make it look like a smaller version of the Kia Stinger. This means you can have a car that appears to be a serious small sports sedan and enjoy a drive that will let you have the fun you want from behind the wheel. Hopefully, the new Kia Forte5 will make its way south to our dealerships in the future.
